How does an electrical service panel work?

The service panel is the main panel which electricity is brought into the building. Then is distributed to various branch circuits. Power from the utility company enter into the panel with three large wires. Two hot and one neutral. The main neutral wire connects to a neutral bus bar and the two hot mains connect to the main power shut off.

Electrical panel inside components are designed to fail. They are the first line of defense in protecting you and your home. When there is an overload, the circuit blows the circuit breaker. This tells you something is wrong and you should call an electrician to come out and inspect your panel box.

Outdated electrical panels are a main cause of electrical fires. Upgrading your panel is an investment worth making to keep you and your home safe. Specially if you have an older home. We are living better electrically now that ever before. Older home panels are not sufficient enough to handle it.

You have many options and an electrician can go over them with you. Give us a call to set up an appointment today.

At what point should you replace your HVAC unit?

At what point should you replace your HVAC unit? According to HVAC manufactures and HVAC contractors, the average response is within 10 -15 years of service or when a major repair is needed. The only reason you would want to replace your unit is when you are not satisfied with the output. Output (temperature) is the result of airflow, workload, environment, and maintenance and other factors.

Based on testing and evaluating your system, we are able to offer a maintenance/repair program that is designed to eliminate replacement. As your physician monitors your bodily function we monitor your systems output. Adjusting, cleaning and repairing when necessary. Compare minor cost to replacement. We all like NEW but can the cost be justified. Lets’ talk about a custom program for your house.
