How Can You Lower Your Utility Bill? For most of us, your utility bill is one of your highest monthly expenses. We want to share some tips with you. Just a few changes can help your home be more energy efficient and cut your utility costs.

 Adjusting your thermostat a few degrees up in the summer or down in the winter can save you on your heating and cooling costs. The U.S. Department of Energy recommends setting your thermostat to 78 degrees in the summer and 68 degrees in the winter.

Caulking and weather stripping around doors and windows is an inexpensive way to prevent air leaks and improve utility costs. Insulating your water heater, can return you huge savings.

Maintaining your HVAC system and changing your filters regularly can reduce your home energy costs by maintaining your heating and cooling system.

In the summer, using your dryer when it’s cooler will help your air conditioner from working harder. When washing, using warm and cold water settings instead of hot. Doing laundry later in the day during off peak hours will also help save on your costs. Replacing older units with a new ENERGY STAR certified models.

Install LED light bulbs that are ENERGY STAR certified. Which are guaranteed to save energy in comparison to other alternatives.
