Knob-and-Tube Wiring In Sacramento
This is what the number is for.

We look before we quote.
Knob-and-tube is not one decision. It is a house full of circuits, and each has its own answer. Telling them apart is what we do.
What We Look At
- The insulation on the wire. The cloth and rubber on wiring this old turns brittle, and where it has cracked matters more than how old it is.
- Whether it is buried. Knob-and-tube was built to shed heat into open air. Blown-in insulation packed over it changes that.
- What has been added since. Decades of splices, extensions and new circuits tied into the old ones.
- Three-prong outlets with no ground behind them. Common on older wiring, and impossible to tell from the outside. Three prongs does not mean grounded.
Some circuits need replacing now. Others can be extended or kept while you plan. We tell you which is which, and why. Buying, selling, or your insurer is asking? Start with knowing what you have.
I have used priority one multiple times for my older home and they get it right every time… They are honest, professional, and let you know what they’re doing and why.B Gray · Read on Google
