Electrical Services
Electrical service only. Done right.
Everything below happens at, or downstream of, your panel. Pick the one that sounds like your problem, or call and describe it: (916) 929-7995.
If it runs on electricity in your building, it comes back to this box.

What We Do, And What We Do Not Do
We pride ourselves as being an electrical service contractor and not a jack of all trades. We specialize in electrical service only. Nor are we a construction contractor. We can proudly say, “We are not under construction.” And we are not all things to all people.
◆
Troubleshoot And Restore Electrical Circuit Failure
Partial power loss, or full and complete power loss. Any time or any day. This is most of what we do, and we are available to do it 24/7.
I answer the telephone on weekends and after hours.

Part of the house
Some rooms work and some do not. Lights out on one side, dead outlets in a bedroom, a breaker that trips or will not stay in. Have your address and the year the house was built ready when you call.
The whole house
Nothing at all, anywhere. Check with SMUD first to be sure power is reaching the property. If it is, the problem is on your side of the meter, and that is ours to fix.

Electrical Service Panel Upgrades
Some brands of older panels and circuit breakers have a documented record of breakers that fail to trip at the manufacturer’s rating. There have been many instances where the actual tripping point exceeded the listed rating by 75 to 100 percent.
We have replaced older panels because of this safety issue. Several insurance companies refuse to insure properties that have older circuit breakers and panels.

Circuit Installation, Fans And Controls
Living better electrically today than ever before often results in overloaded circuits. Today’s lifestyle, and often the national electrical code, requires panel upgrades. One or two dedicated circuits for today’s modern equipment could make all the difference to your comfortable way of living.
- Dryer
- Space Heater
- Range
- Freezer
- Window A/C
- Welder
- Dedicated circuits, which take the load off existing circuits and extend their life
- Circuits for space heaters, window air conditioners, freezers and shop equipment
- 220 volt outlets for dryers, ranges and welders
- Air quality and energy saving fans
- Whole house fans, attic ventilators and quiet paddle fans
- WiFi and Bluetooth control units, which have a very positive effect on a run away utility bill
◆
EV Charging
Level 1 and level 2 charging receptacles, installed on a dedicated circuit and sized to your panel. If your panel does not have the capacity, we will tell you that before we quote the charger rather than after.
◆
Outlets, Switches And Safety Devices
Our skilled electricians easily remove and replace receptacles and switches with newer styles, colors and safety features.
- GFCI protection, which can be installed on grounded or non-grounded conductors
- Weather resistant outlets for outdoors and garages
- Outlets with built in USB and USB-C charging
- Tamper resistant outlets where small children visit
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, hard wired
- WiFi and Bluetooth switches and dimmers
- Aluminum branch wiring corrected with listed connectors

Lighting, Inside And Out
Fixtures installed, replaced and repaired, from a single porch light to a whole house.
- Older fluorescent fixtures removed and replaced with more energy efficient LED
- Ceiling fixtures, pendants and under cabinet lighting
- Motion and security lighting
- Porch, landscape and driveway lighting
- Bathroom exhaust fans and fan light combinations
◆
Surge Protection
Now both the national electrical code and the California Electrical Code require surge protection when panels are upgraded or replaced. Who would have ever thought of code protection in California? Lightning strikes are not that common here.
The concern today is the California electrical grid, with its aging infrastructure, maintenance issues, high temperatures and increased demand. Surge protection is protecting your assets from the electrical grid. The kilowatt demand is increasing, and supply is lagging.
◆
Grounding To Meet Current Safety Codes
We test and validate the existing ground grid. If the existing single copper ground rod tests at greater than 25 ohms resistance, our electricians will add an additional ground rod with a connecting copper conductor. This will place the property in compliance.
Also ask about hot tub and spa circuits, RV outlets, and generator inlets with a transfer switch.
◆
Safety Is A Major Concern
It is our obligation to ensure that your home is safe from not only electrical hazards but additional hazards we might notice while doing business with you. We are not handymen.
Our electricians receive weekly training on personal safety, electrical code updates, electrical installation tips and education, as well as customer service training. We read Electrical Construction and Maintenance, Electrical Contractor, and Contracting Business, alongside a service system Don Kruse developed over a career in electrical service.
